Let me learn how to be a tiny seed
Be patience in grow whichever it need

Let me learn how to be an ever green
Be strong in root and branch out leaf
Let me learn how to be a falling leaf
Sinking toward ground by given grace

Let me learn how birds beside sing
To understand their praise
Let my leave move along the constant winds
To join them in glory praise

I meet U** Mr. Au

Two years in the collage, took diploma in Foodservice course, so part of the subjects was nutrition. During the beginning of new semester, like most of the students we were curious about the nutrition’s lecturer, wondering how this person would look like, has a great build up body? Look healthy? With great look may be? Sat in the class waiting, anticipating…then the door open …our mouths drop…our eyes stress wide. Then we start to question about…are we in a wrong class by mistakes or this was real. The lecturer turns out right and we were in the right place. We actually laugh with disbelieve.

He began with greeting then introduced him self “Mr. Au” the reason in our strange acting was…He look extraordinary thin, like a mal-nutrition patient, he look a bit old but not exactly cause his hairs were black. The whole package of his look was outrages. Then once again we were shock with the transparency he put on projector…our very first lesson with him…all colorful words were in capital letters without paragraph. Even I get a bit dizzy reading the words. Felt like a disaster hitting…not yet finish…the next was his Hypnos power during teaching …explaining with long detail upon the subject. All of us turn so sleepy and bore don’t know why, but he still standing in front enjoying himself teaching, with constant pleasant smiles. At that point I wonder how we are going through this entire semester.

Normally students sleep on the table, sometimes skip class or patiently just sat in class for attendants. Over the time students may tease or joke about him especially of his drawing human anatomy, yet he would be calm without any temper even jokes around with us without hard feeling. Dedicated in teaching when we were sleepy or fall asleep he would kindly called our name in order to wake us up. Encourage us to eat sweet. Through our experience of knowing this person, he actually took a lot of teaching jobs beside been a part time lecturer in our collage. Imagine the hours of teaching and travels he need. Sometime we watch him taking a break with biscuits or a chocolate bar one of his favorite, yet he always look fresh in good mood, energetic, enthusiast in the lesson he was presenting and the best was he never ever lost his temper or spoken any discourage word toward us…giving the politeness and respect that most of the lecturer didn’t understand or purges. Sometime we may felt a bit shameful upon not been a good leaner.

Now I really miss him very much, there was always a pondering in my mind, how he did it? How he manage to communicate with people like us (wild and naughty), without anger, hatred, negativity, discriminate, temper, and distrust or loss hope like most of us thinking toward others.

May be it was his chocolate making him so calm and cool? Or simply because he feed himself endlessly with “the courtesy of love”. The greatest lesson from Mr. Au’s class
